About A Movement Collective
A Movement Collective was founded in 2021 by yoga instructor, mobility coach, and movement artist Thiditsana “Didi” Moloi.
Thiditsana is a student of movement and a lover of community. She believes that when we allow ourselves to find expression in the multitude of movement arts, we can open ourselves up to fluidity in all areas of our lives. Often times when we feel stuck in the mind, we are able to connect with our physical capabilities to plant seeds that catalyze growth and optimal change in the mind. Additionally, through community integration, connection and support, these seeds are watered and nurtured. A Movement Collective is a space created to encourage this type of growth for for the individual and for the collective.
Since discovering her gift of connection and movement, Thiditsana has poured her heart into cultivating community through movement artistry. Through these efforts, A Movement Collective was born.
More About the Founder:
Thiditsana “Didi” Moloi
With extensive personal experience as an athlete since attending grade school, Thiditsana “Didi” has had her fair share of injuries throughout her athletic career. Thiditsana spent over a decade playing competitive basketball since the age of eleven years old. During this span of time, she sustained multiple career altering injuries that resulted in four major knee surgeries. These surgeries ultimately prevented Thiditsana from extending her collegiate basketball career beyond two years.
Her history of undergoing multiple surgeries served as an important life lesson for her, as it forced her to reflect on the detriment that she was causing on her body. The vigorous nature of competitive sports combined with modern day lifestyle lead to many limitations in her mobility. These activities played a significant role in the continual feelings of disconnection from her body.
In 2015, Thiditsana underwent her final major knee surgery not knowing what was to come of the future of her physical health at such a young age. She had just ended her sophomore year of college and could no longer play basketball competitively. During that same year, Thiditsana did not anticipate that her life would shift when she walked into a yoga studio. From the day she started yoga, Thiditsana immediately fell in love with the practice. Years later, she made the decision to get certified as a 200 RYT yoga instructor & an FRC mobility specialist.
Over time, Thiditsana has developed other forms of movement and mobility practices that coincide her yoga teachings. In regards to mobility, she draws from the teachings of mobility aficionado Ben Patrick aka KneesOverToesGuy and FRC expert, Hunter Cook. Additionally, Thiditsana continues to draw from many different styles of yoga that she has regularly practiced, such as Vinyasa, Kundalini, Ashtanga, Yin, & others.
Thiditsana combines yoga & mobility in her lead movement classes. Her classes will encourage you to utilize the many movements that our bodies are often deprived of in day to day modern life as well as allow you to find challenge with strength & balance.
